Reginae Carter and Bria Williams, the daughters of Lil Wayne and Birdman, respectively, have their very first novel coming out next month. The novel, Paparazzi Princesses, is set for release on June 4.

The book description seems pretty realistic to the lives of both Carter and Williams, and follows the lives of two girls, Kayla Jones and Promise Walker, who are the daughters of two rap legends. According to the book description, the novel addresses all the high expectations of having successful parents and the “not-always welcome glare” of media attention and gossip.

Carter and Williams sat down with Teen Vogue to talk a little bit about the inspiration behind the book and what it’s like being the daughters of Lil Wayne and Birdman:

How did you decide to write a book based on your lives?
BW: My dad said we should write a book. He just threw the idea out, but then Reginae and I really wanted to do it.
Reginae Carter: We always say, “Oh my gosh, if someone could just look in on our lives…” People think it would be so cool to be a celebrity’s kid, but it has its ups and downs. Me and Bria have been introduced to the paparazzi and awards shows since we were so little. One day, we said, “Everybody thinks it’s just so perfect, but maybe we should tell them how it is.” Instead of them just looking at us, they can come into our lives. We feel like not a lot of kids read nowadays, with social media and everything, so we’re hoping to put the fun back into reading.

What is it like to have a hip-hop star for a dad?
RC: There are some major advantages. Just the fact that you can go to awards shows and meet people in the industry that you look up to. Red carpets are so fun!
BW: It’s cool, because I see my dad on stage performing, and it’s like, “Wow, that’s my dad.”
RC: I am a big, huge fan of Rihanna and I met her a couple of weeks ago at her concert, and then she followed me on Instagram! She’s so cool. I love her.

Paparazzi Princesses will be published by Cash Money Content, the label’s publishing division, in association with Simon and Schuster’s Atria Books. Read more of their interview at Teen Vogue and look for their book out next month.

The trend of Photoshopping oneself into images with celebrities is far from gone, and there are some doing it so hilariously well that their work goes viral. Last August, Everett Hiller blew up for photos where he was convincingly partying with Snoop Dogg, Leonardo DiCaprio, and even Barack Obama. On the less upbeat side of the spectrum, Shirley Hornstein was ousted by Techcrunch for Photoshopping herself into pictures with influential tech figures and celebrities in order to move up in Silicon Valley. Her web of lies got her fired from her job and publicly shamed online.

Not everyone’s trying to lie about their made-up celeb associations, though. The latest (and possibly greatest) addition to the “Photoshopping oneself with celebrities” meme is the work of Patrick Thorendahl, who goes by Peejet. He’s posted 100 Photoshopped Instagram photos so far, where he’s everywhere from our Rihanna cover to helping Drake weight-lift at the gym, on bikes with Trinidad James, and on a boat with Beyonce. Dude gets to live his dreams over and over thanks to his photo manipulation skills, and he’s even shameless enough to add Jay-Z and Kanye West into his pics with their girls.

Patrick has over 54,000 followers on Instagram so far. If this doesn’t get him more graphic design work, it’s at least getting him very, very popular for being a leader in this growing meme. Follow him on Instagram @Peejet for more.

So many strange things are happening in the world we’re living in today, but the average modern day artistes and musicians are not helping matters by consciously yet politely addressing the issues through their songs.

It’s not wrong to party, but we also need to be conscious of what is going on around us at all times. As usual, many are always scared of hitting the nail on the head and calling a spade a spade but Kelly Hansome has never failed to speak his mind. This Song addresses very crucial issues in a subtle and polite manner, reminding us all that we possess the fundamental human right to ask questions.

It’s time for a conscious sober reflection. Just press play, listen, think, and ask yourself this question, what is happening?
